Sleman, <strong><em>NU Online</em></strong><br />
The Indonesia's largest Muslim organization Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) together with the Batak Protestant Church (HKBP) arrived Sleman on Wednesday. The two organizations through "NU and HKBP Care for Merapi" demonstrated their solidarity by giving assistance to victims in a refugee "Al Qadir" camp, Paten, Tridadi, Sleman. The delegation was received by the camp's leader KH Rasul.<br />

Those representing the Nahdliyin-based organization were chairmen of the Central Board of NU KH Marsudi Suhud and M. Imam Aziz, deputy secretary Imdadun Rahmat and chairman of the Climate Change and Disaster Mitigation Center (LPBI) Avianto Muhtadi.<br /<>>

While from the HKBP was represented by such saints as Dr. Bonar Napitupulu, Dr Einar Sitompul, Patar Napitupulu and Brigadier General (ret) SP Sitorus.The delegation was also accompanied by the chairman of the Yogyakarta's NU Regional Board Prof Dr Nizar Ali and the coordinator of LPBI Haryoso.<br />

NU Online's Gugun El-Guyanie quoted deputy secretary of PBNU Imdadun Rahmat as saying that the collaboration between NU and HKBP was part of solidarity as fellow human beings standing equal before God.<br />

"In addition (to giving assistance) to this place, we will also give assistance to (the victims) in Magelang," Imdadun Rahmat said. (gun)
